MINNEAPOLIS — Funerals are scheduled Saturday for the five children who died in a north Minneapolis duplex fire on Valentine’s Day.
The Rev. Jerry McAfee, who has been acting as a spokesman for the children’s father Troy Lewis, said the funeral will take place at 11 a.m. at Shiloh Temple Church.
Lewis, who was released from the hospital over the weekend, will hold a news conference Wednesday at New Salem Baptist Church in north Minneapolis.
Five of Lewis’ children were killed.
The condition of one of the surviving girls, 9-year-old Shaca, was upgraded Tuesday, from critical to serious. Five-year-old Electra remains in satisfactory condition.
Fire officials said last week that the cause of the fire is undetermined, but nothing indicates it was intentional.
