Interstate 35 from Albert Lea to the Iowa border is open, according to the Minnesota Department of Transportation.
However, southbound Interstate 35 from Owatonna to Albert Lea remains closed at this hour. Crews with heavy equipment continue to work on that 25-mile stretch, according to a news release.
Other highways in the region remain impassable or with only one lane open for all traffic. MnDOT crews are working to remove snow and are waiting for disabled vehicles to be safely removed.
Motorists should plan accordingly.
MnDOT’s no travel advisory for all of southeastern Minnesota continues because of hazardous driving conditions with blowing snow, icy patches and reduced visibility. The advisory is for Rice, Steele, Dodge, Mower, Freeborn, Goodhue, Olmsted, Fillmore, Houston, Winona and Wabasha counties.
