Women’s health care symposium this month

The sixth annual Women’s Health Care Symposium will be from 8:30 a.m. to noon Feb. 22 at Wedgewood Cove, 2200 W. Ninth St., Albert Lea. Doors open at 8 a.m.

The program includes speakers from Mayo Clinic Health System who will talk about heart disease, women and depression, and the Mediterranean diet. Dr. Sandra Birchem in the Cardiology Department; obstetrician Ealena Callender; registered dietitian Amy Pleimling and registered dietitian Emily Schmidt are all scheduled to present.

This symposium may be worth three contact hours and has been designed to meet the Minnesota Board of Nursing continuing education requirements. It is the responsibility of the participant to determine if this meets the criteria for continuing education for their profession.
