The following are some of the volunteer opportunities currently open in Freeborn County. If you can help with any of them or would like to volunteer for others, call Carrie Paulson, Retired and Senior Volunteer program director, at Senior Resources, 377-7433.
Semcac/Senior Towers and Shady Oaks: Volunteers are needed Monday through Friday to deliver meals from Senior Tower to Shady Oaks at 10:30 am. Five volunteers are wanted, one for each day of the week. Please call Paulson at 377-7433 if you can help in this vital service.
Senior Resources: Volunteers needed for Monday and Friday afternoons from 1 to 4 p.m. The volunteers would answer phones and do filing and general receptionist duties. Also we need a person to fill in for our vacationing regulars. The times available are the following: Wednesday from 1 to 4 p.m. and Thursdays from 9 a.m to 1 p.m. the month of March. We would love to have you come and join us! Call Paulson or Marilyn Lancaster at 377-7433.
Albert Lea Family Y: The Y is in need of volunteers for its indoor triathlon on Feb. 22. This event is for people 12 years and up. The Y will need five to 15 volunteers to help count laps and time people at the different stations. Please call Susie Hulst at 373-8228 or Paulson at 377-7433 to volunteer.
RSVP, a program of Senior Resources of Freeborn County, receives some funding through the United Way of Freeborn County, the Minnesota Board on Aging and the Corporation for National and Community Service.
