You Can Help

The following are some of the volunteer opportunities currently open in Freeborn County.  If you can help with any of them or would like to volunteer for others, call Carrie Paulson, Retired and Senior Volunteer Program director, at Senior Resources, 377-7433.

 Family Y: is in need of volunteers for their indoor triathlon on Feb. 22. This event is for people 12 and up. The Family Y will need five to 15 volunteers to help count laps and time people at the different stations.  Call Susie Hulst at 373-8228 or Carrie Paulson at 377-7433.

Habitat for Humanity Freeborn/Mower Counties ReStore of Albert Lea: Looking for volunteers to man the store for the month of February. This will be a cashier position and helping customers find merchandise – no lifting will be required. Hours are flexible depending on the volunteers schedule. Please contact Brigette Campbell at 507-433-1349 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Mondays through Fridays.

Semcac/Senior Towers & Shady Oaks: Volunteers are needed Monday through Friday to deliver meals from Senior Tower to Shady Oaks at 10:30 a.m. Would like five volunteers (one for each day) to help us out. Call Carrie at  377-7433  if you can help in this vital service.

RSVP, a program of Senior Resources of Freeborn County, receives some funding through the United Way of Freeborn County, the Minnesota Board on Aging, and the Corporation for National and Community Service.
