The Albert Lea farmers market will have their annual meeting at 6:30 p.m. March 25 at the Albert Lea American Legion.
The local farmers market is a non profit group that works with local producers to market their products more efficiently to provide customers with fresh and healthy products.
Producers can sell vegetables, fruits, baked goods, eggs, jams and jellies, bedding plants, flowers, local crafts, meats and pickles. According to state legislation, all items need to be produced or made by the seller unless approved by the board.
The local farmers market is open from mid-May through October. The market will be open on Wednesdays from 4 to 6 p.m. in the municipal parking lot on North Broadway and Fountain Street as well as on Saturdays from 9 a.m. to noon in the Northbridge Mall parking lot.
Anyone interested in joining the market can come to the meeting. Verlys Huntly can be contacted for more information at 507-297-5546.
