The Albert Lea High School vocal music department will present a show choir showcase concert at 7 p.m. Thursday in the high school auditorium. Tickets are $5 at the door.

Performing at the concert will be SASS show choir and CATaclysmic show choir from ALHS, Center Street Singers from Lourdes High School in Rochester, Golden Stripe Glee from Blue Earth High School, and NIACC Singers from Mason City. It is the only fundraiser for the show choir this year.

SASS is the all female show choir at ALHS with girls in eighth- through tenth-grade. They rehearse once a week and will perform “Turn the Beat Around,” “Shop Around,” “I See the Light,” and “Popular.” Student choreography help was given by Liana Schallock, Brianna Shea and Cheyenne Severtson.

Student choreographers this year for CAT are Katelyn Hendrickson and Emily Ortiz.

Both show choirs are directed by Diane Heaney.

Neighbors from Blue Earth High School will perform “Add a Riff” and “Proud Mary.” They are under the direction of Paul Johnson. Rochester Lourdes High School will sing “Nice Work if You Can Get It,” “Creole Love Call,” “I Got Rhythm,” “I Wish You Love,” “Taking a Chance on Love,” and “I’m Beginning to See the Light.” They are directed by David Phelps. NIACC Singers are directed by Jayson Ryner and will sing “Long Train Running,” “Say Something,” “Bye Bye Bye,” “Diamonds are a Girl’s Best Friend,” and “We Go Together.”
