Salem Lutheran Church, 115 N. Washington in Albert Lea, will host four Lenten Recitals during the season of Lent.
The first recital will be Sunday at 3 p.m. Each recital will be approximately 30 minutes, followed by the Service of Compline. Eileen Nelson Ness will present Sunday’s program with music reflecting the Lenten journey beginning with Ash Wednesday and continuing on through Holy Thursday and Good Friday.
The remaining recitals will be March 23, with Gail Thurnau from Christ Episcopal and Ascension Lutheran Churches; March 30, with Robert Tewes from Grace Lutheran Church; and April 6 with Deb Stolarcek playing the flute and Eileen Nelson Ness the organ.
Each year the American Guild of Organists present Lenten recitals throughout the U.S. The Southeast Minnesota Chapter of the AGO also presents recitals in Rochester at First Presbyterian Church.
Recitals are free and open to the public. A free-will offering is taken at the door.
