Duane Hauge, 74, Glenville

Funeral services for Duane T. Hauge, 74, of rural Glenville will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at First Lutheran Church in Glenville. The Rev. James Rushton will officiate. Visitation will be Wednesday evening from 4 to 7 p.m. at Bonnerup Funeral Service in Albert Lea and one hour prior to the service at the church. Interment will be in Greenwood Cemetery in Glenville.

Duane died Sunday, March 23, 2014, at his home in Glenville.

Duane was born Sept. 7, 1939, in Worth County, Iowa, the son of Julius and Ruby (Peterson) Hauge. He graduated from Glenville High School. On Feb. 19, 1966, he was united in marriage to Sharon Peterson at St. Olaf Lutheran Church in Austin.

Duane was baptized at Elk Creek Lutheran Church in Kensett, Iowa, and confirmed on June 21, 1953, at First Lutheran Church in Glenville, where he remained a member. He served in the National Guard for several years.

Duane farmed in rural Glenville for many years and worked also for the Wilson & Co. in Albert Lea. He loved farming and gardening, fishing, golf and caring for animals. His favorite times were spent with his family, especially his grandkids.

Duane is survived by his wife, Sharon, of Glenville; children Kim (Randy) Hengesteg of Northwood, and Tim (Joyce Osterman) Hauge of Northwood; grandchildren Scott Hengesteg, Carly Hengesteg, Stephanie (Josh Claussen) Seipp, Anthony (Kayla) Hauge and Tayler Hauge. Great-grandchildren include Carsen and Cadence Claussen. There are three sisters, Arlene Knaack of Glenville, Mavis Beighley of Gordonsville and Mary Ann Thompson of Glenville; one brother, LaVerne Hauge of Glenville; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Julius and Ruby; brother, Jerome Hauge; and sister, Crystal Peterson.
