Good Samaritan Society-Albert Lea has been recognized as a 5 Star Location according to a rating system used by U.S. News and World Report. The society was rated as providing excellent healthcare, quality senior living and superb staffing.

U.S. News used data from Nursing Home Compare and awarded the “Best Nursing Homes” designation to skilled nursing communities that recently earned five-star ratings from the federal Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services.

The factors that determine each location’s star rating are acquired through the results of the yearly state health inspections, nurse staffing and quality measures. Centers for Medicaid and Medicare Services requires nursing homes to submit clinical data for the latest three calendar quarters detailing the status of each individual Medicare and Medicaid resident in 18 indicators.

“While we are proud of our ‘best of’ rating, we know it is only part of the story of what makes Good Samaritan Society-Albert Lea great,” says Katie Davis, Good Samaritan Society-Albert Lea campus administrator. “There are many factors that can help when choosing a provider of care for a loved one; a survey rating of our services does not adequately reflect all the care, love and compassion given to residents and patients at our care center every day,” says Davis.

Good Samaritan Society-Albert Lea is owned and operated by the Evangelical Lutheran Good Samaritan Society.
