Mayo Clinic Health System’s hospice department is offering help to those who have suffered a loss with a grief support series. Groups are run by a bereavement staff person and hospice volunteer, according to Marietta Stein, bereavement coordinator for the hospital.

This mutual-help series provides emotional support and shares practical help within a supportive environment to achieve a better understanding of the grief process, according to a hospital press release.

“We offer these groups in response to people calling looking for information and help in grief and bereavement issues,” Stein said. “They are actually incorporated with our bereavement follow-up for our hospice patients families, but are also open to the public.”

Groups are made of at least five people but no more than 10. Interested participants are asked to register beforehand.

The series began on Feb. 27 and will run through March 27. For more information and to register contact hospice at 507-377-6393.
