Ch-ch-ch-changes

Albert Lea is witnessing changes in the use of its buildings. At the top, Pizza Hut pulled out of the city at the end of February after decades of serving up and delivering pizza from 1725 E. Main St. Dollar General opened up in a vacant building at 201 E. Main St. once occupied by Snyder Drug. It seems Dollar General stores are everywhere these days, even in small cities such as Northwood, Lake Mills and Wells. Work continues on the construction of a new Hy-Vee Gas store at 2717 Bridge Ave. Finally, the Albert Lea Veterans Affairs Clinic is expected to open later this month.
