I think a letter writer Monday was a little confused about who balanced the budget in Minnesota. Two years ago when the Republicans controlled the Legislature they did all the heavy lifting that created the balanced budget. We will see the results of the Democratic budget over the next two years.

The only thing the Democrats did was raise taxes way too high and now they only plan on giving half of the money back and none to those who paid it in. Republicans tried to give money back to schools only to have Gov. Mark Dayton veto the bill.

Now the Democrats with their new anti-bullying bill want to give control of our schools to state officials rather than keep it with local school boards. Republicans want lower taxes and less government. Democrats want higher taxes and more government control of our lives.
