Match starts fire in Conger
CONGER — A kitchen was damaged by fire early Sunday morning at a house on Freeborn County Road 46 west of Albert Lea.
Dispatchers were alerted to the fire, at 70885 County Road 46, at 12:01 a.m. Initial reports indicated the fire started in the kitchen and was spreading.
The first deputies on the scene entered the residence and extinguished the fire before it spread to other rooms.
The Conger Fire Department responded, with the assistance of the Alden and Manchester fire departments. No one was injured. The fire is believed to have started after a match was thrown into a garbage can.
Weather vane stolen
A weather vane was reported stolen at 2:45 p.m. Monday from a garden at 17031 810th Ave., Glenville.
Items illegally dumped
Four tires and a broken TV were reported dumped in the east ditch at 9:32 a.m. Monday near 10499 708th Ave., Emmons,
Man arrested for drug possession, warrants
Albert Lea police arrested Dustin John Theiss, 31, for fifth-degree drug possession and local warrants at 8:49 p.m. Monday at Walmart, 1550 Blake Ave.
