High school hosts spring concert

The Albert Lea High School vocal department will have its annual spring concert at 7 p.m. Tuesday in the high school auditorium, according to a press release. The concert will celebrate the accomplishments of the students from this past year. The senior choir members will also be honored.

They are Andrea Garcia, Kylie Nelson, Sarah Savelkohl, Natalie Peek, Grace Gjersvik, Ashley Holl, Kelly Kaasa, Krystal Thompson, Sydney Overgaard, Erin Murtaugh, Hannah Hertling, Rachel Kenis, Julia Otten, Haley Schroader, Cammy Tewes, Hanna DeVries, Mady Dahl, Kaelie Drescher, Jackie Lopez, Elise Baera, Emma Behling, Haley Allen, Sara Sanderson, Lindsey Freitag, Bryn Woodside, Brianna See-Rockers, Matt Bera, James Young, Tyler Vandenheuvel, Carter Dahl, Preston Smith, Tanner Shaft, Daniel Gould and Lawrence Pederson.

The concert will feature the  eighth-grade women’s choir, Tiger choir, varsity choir, concert choir, chorale and CATaclysmic show choir. The choirs are directed by Diane Heaney, Mary Bissen and student teacher Katherine Ollman.

This year students from the choirs at ALHS have participated in choral festivals, chorale, caroliers, show choir, solo and ensemble contest, All-State, trips to Minneapolis, the Chanhassen Dinner Theater and Minnesota Opera and performed for community events.

Admission to the concert is $7 for adults and $5 for seniors and students. Music concert passes are also valid for this concert. Tickets are available at the door and doors will open at 6:15 p.m.
