MINNEAPOLIS  — Kayakers and canoeists are being advised to stay off Minnehaha Creek until further notice.

Officials with the Minnehaha Creek Watershed District said fast-moving water and high water levels caused by recent rains have created unsafe conditions.

District spokeswoman Telly Mamayek said some underpasses may not be passable in a kayak or a canoe.
