HASTINGS — A Missouri man has died after a fight outside a Minnesota restaurant.

Police said 32-year-old Bradley Sanders, of Bakersfield, Mo., died today at a St. Paul hospital. He collapsed during a fight with a 27-year-old West Plains, Mo., man outside a Perkins Restaurant in Hastings May 9.

Police Chief Bryan Schafer said the men were in the area to work on a construction project at a local oil refinery. He said they stopped at the restaurant after a night of drinking. A manager told them to leave after they started arguing.

The suspect was jailed on suspicion of third-degree assault but later released pending further investigation.

Schafer said the case will be forwarded to prosecutors once the medical examiner determines the cause of death.
