ST. PAUL — The Minnesota Department of Commerce says the personal information of at least one real estate broker it licenses has been compromised.

Commerce officials said the broker’s private data was inappropriately printed on a postcard and mailed to notify the individual of an upcoming license renewal date.

Commissioner Mike Rothman has started an investigation to determine how the release of information occurred, the scope of the problem and notify any other individuals that may be affected. The commissioner has also contacted the Office of the Legislative Auditor.
