NORTHWOOD — Two people were seriously injured Sunday evening after a rollover crash in Worth County.
Fargo resident Sadie Jo Lewis, 25, was listed in fair condition Tuesday afternoon at St. Marys Hospital in Rochester, according to a hospital spokeswoman. Her passenger, David Klocek, 31, of Ellendale, had been upgraded to fair condition at Mercy Medical Center-North Iowa.
Lewis and Klocek were reportedly traveling east on 410th Street in a 2003 GMC Sierra pickup near the road’s intersection with Worth County Road S56 when Lewis drove through the stop sign without stopping, lost control and entered the north ditch on 410th Street, according to the Iowa State Patrol.
The report stated Lewis could not correct the pickup, and it rolled four times before coming to a rest upright in the north ditch on 410th Street facing southeast.
The State Patrol indicated Lewis was traveling at a high rate of speed. She was ejected from the vehicle, while Klocek stayed inside.
The road was dry at the time of the crash.
The report does not state whether Lewis or Klocek were wearing seat belts.
