ROCHESTER — Motorists will encounter single lane traffic in both directions on Highway 61 in Red Wing at Nymphara Lane as construction begins to replace the bridge, according to the Minnesota Department of Transportation.

The project will reduce traffic beginning Friday to one lane on Highway 61 in both directions between Highway 292 and Highway 58. There is a width limit in effect for vehicles of 10 feet.

Nymphara will be closed Monday night beginning at 8 p.m. overnight as crews take down a portion of the bridge. Colvill Park will be closed beginning at 8 p.m., as well. There are three other times during the work that Nymphara will be closed so crews can ensure safety for motorists and the workers.
