Food effort lacked accurate info

Oh, my God! Was this really for real? Assembly of God’s Church for Ruby’s Pantry — blessings to you all who came May 3. I needed to start this letter nicely; however, I haven’t heard a good thing about this food drive. It’s all bad, and it’s because of the following facts that I witnessed and examined.
First: Where’s the help for the handicapped? They couldn’t make it up that hill! And a large line at that! To get in their ridiculous line? Yeah, right.
Second: They really misinterpreted what things they were saying. Like the word abundance? Not true. $20 for a lot? Nope. Get over $100 of food? No, no and no. They stuff they had there was not what they told people. That’s why there were so many people! Some of those people used the last of their money to get this stuff. I feel so terrible for the people on a limited income who went. We were taken advantage of! There was no way there was an abundance of food.
You take me. I was No. 138, so I was lucky to be under 200 because I got a large pizza. I also got 10 pounds of potatoes, some expired ice cream, black corn on the cob, two white loaves of bread, paper towels and some kind of meat. Oh yeah, and one dozen already boiled eggs. Now, that is nowhere near $100!
It was a complete disgrace to me and many, many people that I know were there saying it, too.
Let’s see, how about $20? You times that by 400? That’s $8,000! If the turnout was more than 500 people? Wow, $10,000.
Now tell me why are they not answering at Assembly of God Church? And where is and what happened to the thousands and thousands of dollars that they collected from these people who really needed the help? I’m hurt, and I’m mad that I was cheated out of $20 like everyone else that was there. This experience has taught me a lot.
I feel so bad for so many, many families that will not ever see that money that they could have taken to the store and gotten a heck of a lot more with.
Ruby’s Pantry held by Assembly of God Church, you know you really misinformed a lot of people and they were hurt. And you know what else? We probably won’t be coming back.
Thanks, really.
