Friday was a special observance day for me in Albert Lea as past mayor in observance of Mr. Paul Sparks and his service to the city of Albert Lea. He spent over a quarter century dedicated to the city of Albert Lea. Life is most satisfying if the world is left a better place as we have passed through and this certainly applies to Paul Sparks. It certainly was my pleasure to know him and to work with him for eight years then to retain his friendship for the past 35-plus years. Memories of him and his families will linger forever a gentleman, family man and servant of the community. Also indeed a pleasure to see family, old friends and visit the city.
