2 injured in crash, assault arrest and other reports

2 injured in crash

Two people sustained minor injuries Monday evening after a vehicle ran off of Interstate 90 near the Oakland exit and into the median.

Lonnie R. Gabrielson, 51, and Alex J. Gabrielson, 11, both of Clear Lake, were transported to Mayo Clinic Health System in Albert Lea for injuries deemed not life-threatening.

The Minnesota State Patrol states Lonnie Gabrielsen was driving a 2008 Chevy Uplander at 7:08 p.m. when it was run off the road, went into the median and hit a high spot. The vehicle went airborne and landed on all four wheels.

Another occupant was not injured.

 

Man arrested for assault

Freeborn County Sheriff’s Office deputies arrested Fortino Zarate, 24, for domestic assault at 8:19 a.m. Monday at 89053 220th St., Oakland.

 

Car fire reported on I-35

A car fire was reported at 5:34 p.m. Monday on Interstate 35, a mile south of the Trail’s Travel Center exit.

 

Tires slashed on vehicles

Tires were reported slashed on several vehicles at 8:35 a.m. Monday at 1010 Ramsey St.

Tires were reported slashed at 8:48 a.m. Monday on one of the Thorne Crest Retirement Community buses and another vehicle in the parking lot at 1201 Garfield Ave. It is unclear if the damage happened Sunday or Saturday night.

 

Hit-and-run crash reported

A hit-and-run crash was reported at 2:51 p.m. Monday at 2410 Y.H. Hanson Ave.
