Dueling piano duo returns for Senior Resources fundraiser

A night full of humor, music and dueling pianos is coming back to Albert Lea with the return of the Deuces Wild dueling piano duo.
Deuces Wild consists of David Charles Eichholz and Ted Manderfeld. The Deuces Wild website touts the show as an “unforgettable experience.” This year’s show will be a fundraiser for Senior Resources of Freeborn County, as it was last year.
Marilynn Lancaster, office assistant at Senior Resources, and Amanda Evans, chore service manager at Senior Resources, said last year’s show was fun and had a lot of energy.

Lancaster and Evans explained that the show is full of surprises and that Eichholz and Manderfeld include the audience and make the show interactive.
The fundraiser did fine last year, Lancaster and Evans said, but they believe this year’s event will be even more popular since the group is more well-known around the area now.
The Deuces Wild website says Eichholz and Manderfeld have performed over 1,500 shows in over 12 years, and that they have traveled over 750,000 miles without missing a show.
Lancaster and Evans said this event is a great way to support seniors locally, and that Albert Lea needs that support. There is more aging in the community, Lancaster and Evans said, and Senior Resources provides services they said are vital. Without funds, these services don’t exist.
At the show, there will be hors d’oeuvres and an open bar. Tickets can be purchased individually or in groups of 10 at a discounted rate, as the tables are tables of 10.
This event will help raise funds for senior resources programs such as ride services, chore services, advocacy and the Family Caregivers Network Program.
Most of these services are for seniors who are older than 60, but ride services is more broad. Lancaster and Evans said these services don’t just help the seniors in the community but their families as well.
Ride services help get seniors to doctor appointments and more and chore services help keep seniors in their homes by offering affordable help with chores. Advocacy helps seniors with paperwork and can help them identify scam callers.
The Family Caregivers Network Program is a means to help families supporting seniors and seniors who are supporting a grandchild. They also give classes, such as classes about how to handle Alzheimer’s and respite for caregivers.
