This month’s Dorothy Godtland Lecture at the Albert Lea Art Center features Linda and Rod Johnson sharing their passions in “An Evening of Wine and Cruising,” according to a press release.
Avid wine connoisseurs, the Johnsons attribute their passion for wine to the wine tastings conducted by Brian Parrish, former owner of Fountain Warehouse Liquor.
Parrish conducted monthly wine tastings at the store, featuring wine reps that took them through the tasting process and eliminated the mystery and snobbishness from the enjoyment of wine.
Additionally, wine dinners at Crescendo have added another dimension to their appreciation of wine, pairing food and wine together to enhance the dining experience.
Cruising is another passion the Johnsons share that began with Rod’s Navy career in the ’70s and brought Linda aboard in the late ’80s when they embarked on their first pleasure cruises together.
The public is invited to attend the Dorothy Godtland Lecture featuring the Johnsons at 7 p.m. Thursday at the Albert Lea Art Center, 226 W. Clark St. in Albert Lea. Admission is free. For more information call the Art Center at 507-373-5665.
