Vote for the quality shop

I am hopeful that the people of Freeborn County remember our recent history. If we think back to three years and more, we will remember: cuts to education, cuts to human services, increases to property taxes, reluctance to pay for road repairs, special sessions, government shutdowns and tax increases called “user fees” that we suffered under Republican rule.
Compare this to the last two years under the Democrats: balanced budgets, increased funding for education, all-day kindergarten, increases in the minimum wage, money for bridge repairs and lake dredging, a tax increase for the rich and legislative sessions ending on time. Why would we want to go back to Republican rule?
To me, it’s like this: Let’s say I take my car to a repair shop. Let’s call it the “R” repair shop. The people working there first of all can’t find the problem, and when they think they’ve found it, they make a mess of fixing it because they don’t understand the problem. They overcharge me and get the car back to me weeks late, and it still doesn’t work.
So I switch car shops and go to a different shop. Let’s call it the “D” repair shop. They correctly diagnose the problem, fix the car, charge me fairly and send me on my way with everything working well, and on time.
Why would I want to go back to the “R” shop?
Don’t go back to the “R” shop. Vote for Rep. Shannon Savick and Gov. Mark Dayton for good governance.
