Woman injured after being hit by car

A 31-year-old woman was transported by ambulance to Mayo Clinic Health System in Albert Lea Friday afternoon after she was reportedly hit by a car in a parking lot at 2314 Hendrickson Road, Albert Lea.

Lacy Jaye Bartell was reportedly crouched down in a parking stall between two vehicles writing on a sign when she was struck by a 2002 Ford, driven by Tosha Lynn Tauer, 32, of Winthrop.

It is unclear why Bartell was in the lot. The incident was reported at 2:49 p.m.

 

1 arrested for DWI

Freeborn County sheriff’s deputies arrested one person for fourth-degree driving while intoxicated at 1:19 a.m. Sunday near the intersection of 787th Avenue and 150th Street, west of Glenville. The name of the person was marked out on the logs.

 

Damage, theft reported in Freeborn

The Freeborn County Sheriffs Office received two reports of damage and theft from 102 Fifth Ave. in Freeborn. The first report, at 5:09 p.m. Friday, was of a flag and oar stolen. In the second report, at 3:27 a.m. today, a fence was damaged.

 

Courtroom damaged 

Damage was reported in one of the courtrooms in the Freeborn County Courthouse at 1:57 p.m. Friday by a juvenile male.

 

Thefts reported

A debit card and cash were reported stolen at 5:09 p.m. Friday from 77542 310th St., north of Clarks Grove.

A cellphone was reported stolen at 9:34 a.m. Monday at 410 E. Main St., Albert Lea. The theft reportedly happened the night before.

 

Windows broken out

A window was reported damaged at 1:26 p.m. Sunday at 709 Bridge Ave., Albert Lea.

The front windshield of a vehicle was reported broken at 8:47 p.m. Sunday at 800 S. Fourth Ave.

 

Woman arrested for restraining order violation

Albert Lea police arrested Renita Lynn Linquist on a harassment restraining order violation at 10:13 p.m. Friday at the Freeborn County Fairgrounds, 1105 Bridge Ave.

 

Juveniles cited for marijuana

A juvenile was cited for a small amount of marijuana and drug paraphernalia after a traffic stop at 11:52 p.m. Friday near the intersection of West Front Street and Madison Avenue.

Three juveniles were cited for possession a small amount of marijuana and drug paraphernalia at 7:04 p.m. Saturday at 616 E. Main St.

 

Man arrested for domestic assault

Albert Lea police arrested Todd Earle Hendricks for domestic assault and fleeing on foot after police received a report that a man had thrown hot grease on his girlfriend at 3:47 a.m. Saturday at 509 Wedgewood Road.

 

3 cited for underage drinking

Albert Lea police cited Jesse Dean Bryand, Saul Tovanlin and Chase Emilio Talamantes for underage drinking after a traffic stop at 4:33 a.m. Saturday on the 700 block of Columbus Ave.

 

Assault reported

Albert Lea police received a report of a man in a white car who pulled up and hit another man in the face twice at 12:07 a.m. Sunday at 2500 Gene Ave.

 

Vehicles tampered with

Someone reportedly rummaged through three vehicles at 1:09 a.m. Saturday at 802 E. Main St., Albert Lea.

 

Austin man trapped under bus

AUSTIN — A 43-year-old Austin man trapped under a bus was taken by helicopter to Mayo Clinic — St. Marys Campus in Rochester Friday afternoon.

Steven Lonergan was repairing a bus with his son in Rose Creek when the vehicle’s rear, already suspended, crashed down while Lonergan was installing a drive shaft, according to Mower County Sheriff Terese Amazi. Lonergan was pinned beneath the bus.

Emergency personnel were called to the scene at around 4:24 p.m. and transported Lonergan by Mayo One soon after. Amazi said Lonergan’s condition was unknown as of Monday morning.
