Albert Lea goes undefeated in Wood Bat League

Youth baseball players from Albert Lea competed in a Wood Bat League in Owatonna on Sunday afternoons, and the last game was Sept. 14. Front row from left are Ty Harms, Bergan Lundak, Alex Bledsoe, Parker Smith and Garret Piechowski. Back row from left are Zach Edwards, Jacob Bordewick, Blake Simon, Dillan Lein, Alex Goodmanson and Cody Ball. The team is coached by Dan Harms, Mike Piechowski, Kelly Bordewick and Grant Edwards. The league consisted of five teams from around the area: Albert Lea, St. Clair, Kenyon-Wannamingo, Southland, and Owatonna. The players are a mix of ninth- and 10th-graders who played together for many years as part of the Knights Baseball Organization and during high school baseball this past spring. The Tigers had a very productive fall season going a perfect 8-0. All eleven players had an opportunity to pitch and play multiple positions. — Provided
