ALAREAM will hold its fall meeting and lunch at noon Sept. 11 at America’s Best Value Inn. A special welcome is being given to all newly retired school personnel of 2014. ALAREAM meets four times a year to help maintain friendships, to  provide knowledge and lobby for legislation which benefits pensions, health, Social Security and areas related to aging.

This month’s  speaker will be Deb McDonald, market area engineer for Central Disposal Systems, Inc. in Lake Mills.  She will dispel the notion of “not your Daddy’s dump” with the use of modern technology to generate energy  and of  tomatoes and the “perfect circle”.
