Ronald (Butch) Allen Hanson died Wednesday, Sept. 24, 2014, at his home in Annandale. A celebration of life will be from 3 to 5 p.m. Saturday at the Edgewater Park pavilion. It will be a time to celebrate Butch’s life and maybe share a story or two about our dad, grandpa, great-grandpa, brother, uncle and great-uncle, and “if Butch was your friend you had a friend for life.”

Butch was born April 1, 1947, in Owatonna to Dorothy and Reynold Hanson. He grew up in Geneva and attended school in Ellendale. He was married in 1971. Butch took his family South for work. He worked on the oil rigs in Mississippi, then did construction work, painting and welding.

Butch moved the family back to southern Minnesota and was divorced. Then he met the love of his life, Rose Marie Antiel, who lived and loved together for 25 years.

He enjoyed fishing, hunting and collecting. Butch collected firearms, toy tractors and toy semis. Butch loved to have family and friends over to barbecue and “talk smart.” Butch was also very proud of all of his grandchildren.

Butch had many medical issues from his lungs to back issues from his work when he was younger. He moved from Clarks Grove to Annandale to be with Rose Marie in November 2013. Now Butch and Rose are together again and no longer miss each other.

Butch will be missed by his son, Jessie (Paula) Hanson; grandchildren Dylan (Chelsea), Nikolas and Brody; great-grandchild Haven; children Theresa (Kevin), Duane, David (Julie), Rosie (Cam), Cora and children Eli, Mandi, Chris, Suzanne, Keith, Samantha, Ashley, Ronald, Allen, Sarah, Jake, Benny, Jeff, Danny, Malinda, Cassie and many more great-grandchildren; brothers David and Dennis and families; and sisters Joanne and Carol (Donnie) and families.

Butch is preceded in death by his love, Rose Marie Antiel, son, Timothy Allen Hanson, sister, Darlene, brother, Gary, and daughter, Debbie.
