PRIOR LAKE — A Minneapolis man accused of fatally shooting his former boyfriend at a gas station last month remains at large after the third day of an intensive manhunt.
The search for 44-year-old Lyle “Ty” Hoffman shifted from the Anoka County airport in Blaine to Prior Lake Wednesday after a man resembling Hoffman was spotted in and around Mystic Lake Casino.
But authorities said a Chevy TrailBlazer is no longer believed to be connected to Hoffman. Earlier, authorities had said someone in the SUV might have picked Hoffman up.
Hoffman is accused of fatally shooting a business and romantic partner, Kelly Phillips, on Aug. 11 at an Arden Hills gas station. Police said a suspect who held up the TCF Bank in Blaine Sunday closely resembles Hoffman.
