Teachers’ union sides with Savick

A few days ago, Jill Peterson wrote a letter suggesting that I was smearing Peggy Bennett. Not true. I was at the debate and just wrote what I heard Ms. Bennett say.
At the debate, Ms. Bennett, in response to a question about education funding, said she has a problem with government programs like free breakfasts. She said that it should be the responsibility of the family.
The fact is that without free breakfasts children will be hungry. She may not “want” them to go hungry, but she would not vote for programs that would feed them.
But don’t take my word for it. Check it out yourself by watching the debate on YouTube. Search on YouTube for “Forum for MN House of Representatives 27A.”
Oh, and one last point. Shannon Savick was endorsed by the local Albert Lea teachers’ union. Why? Because Rep. Savick has proven she will stand up and work for what’s best for students and teachers.”
