Albert Lea boys and girls take silver at Austin

Hanna Kingstrom leads the pack, while Grace Chalmers follows closely behind Tuesday at a cross country meet at Meadow Greens Golf Course at Austin. Kingstrom took 15th place, and Chalmers was 32nd in a field of 87 runners. Both the Albert Lea boys’ and girls’ teams finished second out of six teams. The Albert Lea boys’ and girls’ cross country teams finished second Tuesday at Meadow Greens Golf Course at Austin.

Jackson Goodell led the boys’ team by winning the meet with a time of 16:17 to beat Hunter Bailey of Winona by one second. Caleb Troe finished 11th, Jay Skaar 12th, Nikk Christianson 17th and Herbie Lein 22nd. The field had 22 runners.

Haley Harms led the girls’ team. She took eighth place with a time of 15:45. Autumn Muilenburg finished 13 seconds later to take 11th place, Breanna Himmerich finished 13th, Hanna Kingstrom 15th and Emily Ortiz 18th.
