Dear Editor: I am writing to take issue with a recent letter from Tami Boyer about what Peggy Bennett said or didn’t say. I was at the forum in question, sitting in the front of the room, and heard Peggy Bennett say she was not in favor of the free or reduced cost breakfast program in our schools.

I wrote these words down because I was surprised at the time an educator would say something like that. One can talk about all the quotes they want, but I know what I heard and facts are facts. Another fact is the local teacher organization endorsed Rep. Shannon Savick for re-election. Let’s keep Shannon Savick in the Legislature working for our children.
