Exercise the right to vote for leaders

“I’m from the government and I’m here to help you.” — Words that Ronald Reagan claimed to be the scariest words he ever heard.
Brace yourself and consider the following: “I have nothing to hide.”
This kind of mentality is what leads free people back into bondage. You may have nothing to hide, but you have a lot to defend. Our military are willing to give their lives for your rights as a citizen; will you give a darn?
“That could never happen here.”
Disarming citizens; extermination of a group of people; systematic euthanasia of the mentally and physically disabled.
How many Germans told themselves that after they unwittingly voted for the Nazis?
“Nobody needs _____.”
Nobody needs a handgun; any gun; a magazine that holds more than 10 rounds. Nobody needs to ride motorcycles; skydive or scuba dive, these things are dangerous. Nobody needs a million-dollar home; cabin on a lake and his-and-her SUVs. Nobody needs to write letters to the editor, or read them.
What we don’t need most of all is someone else making these decisions. If government is allowed to decide, you’ll have nothing.
You have the right to vote, but with that right comes obligation. Elections are not about you or me; they are about us and what kind of mess we leave to those who follow.
