Recently there have been several stories in the news concerning the Freeborn County sheriff’s race and, frankly, they’re appalling. One candidate is doing nothing but slinging mud and defaming the other.

Mr. Freitag, on the other hand, is running a very clean campaign. Any comments he makes are made in the proper forum directly to his opponent about his work in office only, with the facts to back it up. He is keeping his campaign professional in all aspects.

His opponent and his “helpers,” however, feel the need to use dirty tactics and fairy tales to muddy the waters. These tactics are disgraceful.

Freeborn County, I hope you keep all of this in mind when you vote for sheriff on Nov. 4. Who do you want for sheriff? Someone who is professional, ethical and factual? Or someone who condones giving false information from the shadows without facts and making personal attacks?

Please vote Kurt Freitag for sheriff.
