Bob Kindler’s so-called ideals!

I would like a good reason why you deserve a vote from the citizens of Freeborn County. I have read all of the articles published in the Albert Lea Tribune during the past four years that you have held office and am very confused about your ideas of being educated, effective, experienced, ethical and your integrity as our country sheriff. I have also read the updated letter you put in your campaign flier and read that you have saved us money with your unparalleled command on the budget, with the elimination of wasteful spending.

What a statement to make, when your first order of business was to file an appeal with the county through the court system for a raise BEFORE even being sworn in as the NEWLY elected sheriff! Now, I don’t disagree that the sheriff should be the highest paid officer within the department. Filing an appeal, before being sworn in, is ETHICALLY wrong! I’m sure you knew before choosing to run for office what the pay was going to be. Wages and respect are earned, not just a given!

There are many areas that you have let us down, Mr. Kindler! Some are cheaper vehicles for use by you as our sheriff, and why do you need two new vehicles within one term? Cars are surely cheaper than trucks! Why have the ICE numbers been declining since you took office, (2011 was $2.2 million, 2012 was $2.1 million and $1.6 million in 2013 in generated revenue)?

Oh, Mr. Don Westland, government shutdown only lasted 17 days in 2013. If we lost half a million in 17 days, how much are we really potentially losing? To those of you that talk about promotions, how did the incompetent detective who can’t solve a simple crime of theft become detective? Sure glad Mr. Danny Parks was able to find his own property. Looks like Mr. Kurt Freitag’s eight-point goals are correct again!

Then you said at the end of your letter, after the primary, that you have delivered everything you promised us without controversy and scandals. Unless we’re dumb and blind, please explain these two statements to the residents of Freeborn County. Sure, with all the attributes you’re lacking, you’re able to explain this to those that supported you the first term! Since some of your supporters can’t seem to state facts on your accomplishments, but rather criticize your opponent. Maybe they fear that your opponent will finally hold them accountable for their job responsibilities and do it with heartfelt honesty for the residents of Freeborn County, who deserve better. We’ve seen nothing but controversy and scandals in your first term, Mr. Kindler. If you hadn’t been so selfish, maybe you could’ve kept your promises. I could go on about other scenarios that you have failed as our sheriff.

I never supported Mr. Kindler, and will not this election! I “support the solution” and Mr. Freitag in being our next sheriff of Freeborn County!
