EAGAN — Authorities have charged a man with a felony who they said flushed pounds of hardware nails down toilets in Eagan.
Thirty-eight year-old Nicholas Mullenmaster of St. Paul is charged with first-degree criminal property damage. Authorities say he caused thousands of dollars of damage to sewer lines.
Authorities said repairs were needed after nails were found in a Subway restaurant sewer line three times. Surveillance footage showed a suspect coming out of the restroom before the third instance in August.
Police located Mullenmaster in September after more reports. They said he was coming out of a Leeann Chin bathroom with a Home Depot receipt and a bag of nails matching those that had been flushed.
He is being held at the Dakota County Jail. Online jail records didn’t indicate an attorney.
