ST. PAUL — Minnesota officials say they’re trying to fix an issue with the online system for requesting absentee ballots after receiving dozens of complaints.
Secretary of state spokesman Nathan Bowie said the office has received about 60 calls in the past week related to rejected online applications. He said the state doesn’t know how many people may be affected. Some website users might be unaware that their applications weren’t accepted.
Washington County resident Charles Farnham said he and his wife were sent to a previous webpage after filling out an online request and no error message was displayed. He said they tried again two weeks later and received a confirmation message after three more attempts.Bowie said the website now displays an error message if an application isn’t completed.
