On Oct. 25, Rep. Shannon Savick wrote in this very paper claiming to be a supporter of gun rights.

Nothing could be further from the truth.

As a member of the House Public Safety Committee, Rep. Savick sat through days of hearings on radical gun-control measures without once speaking up for the rights of law-abiding Minnesota.

Simply owning a gun does not make one a defender of the Second Amendment.

Rep. Savick even got up and walked out of one hearing just as law-abiding gun owners from across the state were offering testimony on one of the gun ban bills being proposed by the DFL.

Rep. Savick has earned an “F” rating from the Gun Owners Civil Rights Alliance for her actions and silence during her first term.

We can’t trust Rep. Savick to protect our constitutional rights in Saint Paul.
