What have some other cities done?

I am baffled why there appears to be a great rush to approve the proposed city reorganization plan. I have not seen or heard any discussions concerning other cities that have restructured. Were they successful?

How long did it take? What surprises were there? What problems did they find? What would they do differently?

Also, what is the cost and benefit? You only spend money if you have already identified savings, or improved services, or expanded services. Most expect a payback in the range of 12 months after completion.

We seem to be skipping a lot of steps, without much data or information!

Most troubling is I have not heard a single word on how this process will be made invisible to the customer/taxpayer. How will they make sure services to the customer are not reduced or neglected. How will they measure this?

This all appears to be an “idea” more than a “proposal.”

Change is good, if you are not changing, you are falling behind. But change must show purpose, savings, improvements and payback!

Why the big rush, especially when there is no plan, no timetable and no savings?
