One of our oldest businesses in Albert Lea is in danger of closing its doors!

Wintergreen Foods Co-op has been a real asset to the community for many years, but now it is in financial trouble and needs our help. I am asking you to attend the board meeting at 7 p.m. Tuesday at the United Methodist Church.

We need to find ways to help them — perhaps form a Save Wintergreen Foods group that would look for ways we can keep it in this community and help it grow even bigger. We cannot afford to lose this business, which provides a wide variety of primarily organic foods.

And I particularly appreciate being able to buy things such as spices in small amounts. Come to the meeting Oct. 7 and help us come up with ideas to keep them in our community.
