Charles Stolaas, 1919-2014

Funeral services for Charles H. Stolaas, 95, of Rhinelander, Wis., and formerly of Albert Lea, will be at 11 a.m. Friday at First Baptist Church in Albert Lea. The Rev. Clayton Balsley will officiate. Interment will be in Hillcrest Cemetery. Visitation will be on hour prior to the service at the church. Online condolences are welcome at www.bayviewfuneral.com.
Charles died Friday, Oct. 31, 2014, at Grace Lodge Assisted Living in Rhinelander.
Charles Henry Stolaas was born March 11, 1919, in Mondovi, Wis., the son of Carl and Henrica (Hatili) Stolaas. He was self-employed as a building contractor. Chuck was passionate about music. He played the accordion in a couple of bands. He enjoyed hunting and fishing with his wife and his friends. His faith in the Messiah gave him strength up to the end.
Survivors include: his wife, Leola (Schultz); his children Robert (Jeanne) Stolaas of Huntsville, Ala., and Victoria (Bruce) Olson of Wisconsin; 10 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; sister, Rose Gold; and nieces and nephews.
Chuck was preceded in death by parents; sisters Clara Thompson and Olga Gulbrandson; and brother, Raymond Stolaas.
