Craig Larson, 1945-2014

Craig Larson, 69, of Fort Ripley, passed away quietly at his home Tuesday, Nov. 18, 2014. Craig was born in Albert Lea March 4, 1945, to Clayton and Elaine (Westfall) Larson. He married the love of his life, Lois Newlander, on Aug. 30, 1975.
Craig work as a machinist and tool maker. He started his own company, Heartland Machine & Tool. He was a tinkerer at heart. Craig “claimed” he could fix anything. He and Lois did a little bit of farming and owned and operated Pine Terrance Resort in Crosslake. Craig was a champion talker, with explanations being quite lengthy. He absolutely loved duck hunting and this passion lead him in chase of feathers to Canada, Mexico, Argentina and Nicaragua.
He will be deeply missed by his wife of 39 years, Lois, of Fort Ripley.
A memorial service celebrating Craig’s life will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at the Halvorson Johnson Funeral Home Baxter chapel. Visitation will be from 10 to 11 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
