Funeral Services for Doris G. Breid of New Richland will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the Vibrant Life Assembly of God Church in Ellendale. The Rev. Patrick Stitt will officiate. Interment will be in Berlin Cemetery, rural Ellendale.

Friends may visit with family one hour before the service at the church. Bonnerup Funeral Service is assisting the family.

Doris died on Thursday, Nov. 20, 2014, at the New Richland Care Center, where she had been as resident for the past 5 years. She was 94.

She was born on July 15, 1920, in Monterey, the daughter of Henry and Bessie (Perrine) Volsen. Doris married Robert P. Breid on March 9, 1945, in Wadena. In 1948, they moved and made New Richland their home.

Doris was a member of the Ellendale Assembly of God Church. She was a wonderful gardener and enjoyed doing crafts.

She is survived by her husband Robert of New Richland; her daughters, Sandy (Allan) Stanko of Reno, Nev. and Cindy (Alvin) Morstad of Hartland; grandsons, Adam (Annie) Morstad of Ellendale and Tony Morstad of Hartland; great-grandchildren, Leah and Levi Morstad; brother Lester Volsen of Wells; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Pierina Volsen of Minneapolis, Clarence Korfe of Clarissa, Jean Ruhn of Eau Claire, Wis., Milton and Shirley Breid of Minneapolis and Robert Dewey of Syracuse, N.Y.; and many nieces and nephews.

Doris was preceded in death by her parents, brother Donald Volsen and sister Lois Korfe.

Doris was an amazing wife, mother, grandmother and made our house truly a home.

She will be greatly missed.
