Runners compete in Blazing Star 5/10K

The first race at the Blazing Star landing raised more than $3,000 on Oct. 4 for Fountain Centers and the Albert Lea Family Y, according to a press release. Making the event possible was 56 runners, 20 volunteers and 10 sponsors. Funds were split equally between the recreation fund for Fountain Centers, a Mayo Clinic Health System program for substance abuse and addiction, and the Albert Lea Family Y’s youth fund drive. —Provided
