What did Savick vote in favor of?

It is that time of year when we start getting overloaded with negative political mail that’s paid for by big corporate interests. This year, they seem to be going after Rep. Shannon Savick.

It’s strange that big corporate interests would throw their money around down here in our area. But it’s not too complicated to figure out. Shannon voted to have Minnesota corporations pay their fair share rather than let them skip paying the bill by putting their profits overseas and out of the state.

Those votes are just a few the Rep. Shannon took. Here are some others:

• Shannon Savick voted to pay back all the millions of dollars that were borrowed from our local schools.

• Shannon Savick voted for $2.2 million in new funding for our Albert Lea Schools alone, including all-day kindergarten.

• Shannon Savick fought for our local infrastructure projects, like the Fountain Lake cleanup and improvements to Blazing Star Trail and Riverland Community College.

• Shannon Savick increased funding for the long-term caregivers and nursing homes that take care of our loved ones.

You know what Shannon didn’t vote for? Big tax breaks for wealthy corporations. I wouldn’t expect her to be too popular amongst corporations bringing in billions each year while families in our area work to get by.

Shannon Savick is a fighter. She grew up in rural Minnesota and stands up for us, even when it’s not popular amongst big money corporations. Shannon is the kind of person I want fighting for us at the Capitol.
