PD seeks help in mosque vandalism probe

ST. CLOUD — The St. Cloud Police Department is seeking the public’s help in investigating property damage incidents at an Islamic faith centers.
Police said there have been five reported incidents from Nov. 7 through Wednesday. The damage included broken windows to an Islamic center. Some vehicles parked outside a worship center also had broken windows.
No one has been injured.
The department is using video surveillance, extra patrols and plain clothes officers in its investigation.
Police said they haven’t determined a motive, but the number of recent incidents is troubling and won’t be tolerated.
Central Minnesota Islamic Center spokesman Mohamoud Mohamed said repairs to windows will cost more than $1,000.
