Salute to Legion for plants, cards
Published 9:54 am Monday, December 15, 2014
This letter is to recognize the American Legion for remembering its members in nursing homes this Christmas season. I had a knock on my door the other day and here were three gentlemen with their Legion caps on.
Their names were John Peterson, Mike Levisen and Gary Anderson. They presented me with a poinsettia plant and a Christmas greeting card.
I am still active, but I am sure that others are not nearly as fortunate as I am who also received plants and cards. My intention is to make sure that the American Legion receives its well-deserved recognition for this community service! The shut-ins, the infirm, the lonely, the disabled and others. I am sure they felt remembered by this kind and noble gesture.
I salute you for a job well done!
