Salvation Army short of goal

With 2015 just two short days away, the Freeborn County Salvation Army has fallen short of its annual Christmas campaign goal, according to a news release.

Optimistically, the leaders of the local organization are assured that it is by faith the organization operates. The local chapter has seen many changes over the last year and may continue to adjust their programing as the demand dictates their ability.

“This year’s campaign has been no different than other years, each year’s campaign provides for different challenges,” said Capt. Jim Brickson, administrator and pastor of the Albert Lea Salvation Army. “This year our challenge remains in meeting the financial goal.”

Program changes are likely in the event that the goal is not met; however, that doesn’t disappoint Brickson.

“The Salvation Army has served in Freeborn County for 118 years,” he said. “In that time many programs had changed to meet the needs of the community. Right now we are prayerful to maintain the programs that we currently have running.”

There are still many opportunities to give to help offset the funding shortfall:
